03. Harry Teal
- Assistant Trainer
Son of Roger and Sue, Harry has always been around horses. Harry started riding at a very young age and was always keen to get on, he progressed through the pony club representing them in the show jumping, eventing, tetrathlon and mounted games, as he grew older he favoured the show jumping and went on to compete at a high level under the rules of the BSJA, while continuing to ride out for his father when he could. On leaving school aged 16 Harry went to a professional show jumping yard but within 5 months of being there decided that racing is where his heart lays. Being a tall lad and still loving his jumping he decided he wanted to go to a jumps trainer and give being a jump jockey a go, so he moved to Alan Kings where he gained a lot of valuable experience. Harry rode as an amateur gaining his first success under rules on the flat for father Roger aboard Miss Lillie at Lingfield that was shortly followed by his first success over hurdles at Newbury aboard Howaboutnever who was also Trained by Roger as well as being part owner. Harry turned conditional in March 2016 and rode plenty of winners for an array of yards. Harry now joins his parents as assistant trainer and takes the first step in what will be an exciting career out of the weighing room.
