Roger bought him for Harry to ride and gain more valuable experience and boy what a star he has turned out to be. first run for us came at Southwell on the 15th November shortly after we got him, in running he ran quite lazily but Harry kept at him and he sprinted home after the last but just couldn’t get up in time. His next run came at Ludlow on the 28th November where the team decided to step him up a furlong and he was like a completely different horse, travelled lovely under Harry and took it up just before the home turn and never saw another rival winning by 6 lengths.
Roger, Sue and Harry then took the long trip up to Wetherby on boxing day where Agincourt Reef would step up into 130 rated company in the 188bet.co.uk handicap hurdle, and again Agincourt Reef travelled strongly to take it up on the turn in to the home straight, it wouldn’t be so easy this time as market leader Solomn Grundy was proving a very difficult rival but a better jump by Agincourt Reef at the last proved to be very decisive as he held on by a short head and doubling up for us. And made it all worth while for Harry having to sacrifice his Christmas dinner.
We now head to Wincanton on Saturday 7th January. He is in great form at home and we hope for another big run.
